Document Translation Pricing
Document translation is a term that can apply to almost any text for translation contained in a digital file. Whether a document in the traditional sense, or a body of text in an electronic format, text to be translated into or from any language is usually made available to a translator in the form of a document file or files. Files might be an editable file such as MS Word or something else. PDFs and image files are also commonly submitted to translators for translation.
The most widely used pricing methodology among professional translators is word count. Page counts are usually not very useful since pages might contain just a few words of text or many words. Hourly rates are another way that some translators charge although the obvious disadvantage is that slower work is inappropriately correlated with higher cost. The logic for this pricing method is not entirely clear.
