What Informed Translation Clients Need to Know – Part #1
Translators Have Areas of Specialization
Most professional translators have areas of subject matter specialization. Translators are people, human beings with unique life experiences and educational backgrounds. So it’s natural that an individual translator will be more comfortable in some domains and subject areas than in others. Typical areas of translator specialization might be in legal, technical disciplines (there are many), marketing, finance, literature, or numerous other categories of written material.
Part of our job at Affinity Translation is to make sure that the right resources are assigned to each translation project. For this reason we work with a wide range of expert, native-speaking linguists. Our depth of translator resources allows us to optimally match each project with translators’ strengths.
Translation companies with only a few in-house translators, or independent freelance translators might be inclined to take on a project, even one they’re not optimally suited for, rather than turn down business. At Affinity Translation our clients can be assured that no matter the nature of the project, we have translators suited to its unique requirements.
