How Much Would It Cost To Translate My Documents?

Translation fees are most popularly priced according to the word count of the source documents. In order to provide an exact quote we ask to receive the documents, review them to determine the word count, calculate a price and schedule, prepare a formal quote and then email the quote back to the client. For most projects it’s possible to request and receive a written quote within a few minutes. Sometimes more complex projects (e.g., multiple languages, less common languages, or special requirements) can slow the process down but quoting is usually straightforward.

Sometimes a client will say “I don’t need an exact quote, just a rough estimate.” The standard question in response is “how many word are in your source documents?” Often the response is “I have no idea.”

Quotes for online document translation are provided at no charge so we encourage clients to send the files for review and to allow an accurate quotation for translation services to be prepared. Occasionally when there are confidentiality concerns, providing a per word rate over the phone or by email will allow clients to make an approximate calculation. Our preference is that whenever possible we issue an exact quote, along with a description of the level of services (e.g., second translator proofreading is included), so that clients have solid information to consider and base their decision on.
