A Friend In The Translation Business
Is it important to have a friendly, professional relationship with your go-to translation vendor?
Here’s a list of just some of the perks a friend in the translation business can provide for you as a regular or sometimes consumer of professional translation services.
- An occasional favor such as bumping your urgent translation project to the front of the line when an especially quick turnaround is needed.
- Manually adjusting the formatting in your translated file to match the original source file as close as possible (as a complimentary service).
- Make a translation update to your delivered translation weeks after the project was completed, to match a small change in the source document.
- Suggest an alternate approach to your project to alleviate unnecessary expense.
- Make special arrangements to assign the same translator to your current project as the last one (since you especially liked the last translator’s approach).
- Proofread your project’s translation deliverable an additional (e.g., third) time to ensure no special client instructions were missed.
- Respond to urgent emails before and after regular hours (even on weekends) in connection with beginning or delivering your especially time-sensitive project.
Is there value in having a friend in the translation business (i.e., a relationship with a translation company)? Our clients will decide.
