Saying No to a Translation Client

Let us be clear about this. We like to say “yes” as much as possible to our clients. Sometimes though, it’s necessary to politely say no in order to get to a yes we can live with.

No we cannot deliver your translation by that date. We’re really sorry about that.

No we cannot do the project for that price. Our rates are already at or below the market average. Do you want us to be here for you in the future?

No unfortunately it’s not possible for you to have a telephone conversation with the translator. For a variety of reasons we cannot realistically make that possible.

It’s great to take on new projects when everything we’ve agreed to do is compatible with that client’s needs. We’re confident in the project’s outcome. The client is satisfied. We then only need to perform and deliver. Naturally we make sure we do that.

So yes we can deliver the project within the schedule we quoted.

Yes we can do the project for this price, and because we’re knowledgeable about translation pricing, we can assure you it’s a fair price.

And yes. Please feel free to call us at any time. And whatever your specific questions are about your translation please let us know in writing and the translator assigned to your project will respond as soon as possible. In our experience the translation process works best this way.
