Complex Translation Projects

Some translation projects are more complex than others. Standard translation and proofreading of text is relatively straightforward. Project complexity is increased with the addition of other services such as formatting, voiceover production, and elearning application integration, to mention a few other categories of service.

All issues need to be considered in calculating costs and pricing for complex projects. So an effort is made to think through all aspects of a project in advance. What are the challenges? What could become a sticking point and require additional attention, time, and at what cost? All these contingencies need to be considered.

Additional project complexity can mean more project risk but not always. Project risk is something we need to account for in pricing, while project complexity is usually something that can be addressed through more attention to planning. We don’t want to add cost to projects unnecessarily since it’s an additional burden to clients and potentially decreases the competitiveness of our service offerings.
